Providing an elegant, neoclassical education... Knowledge is power...
      Knowledge is happiness...

At Monticello Preparatory School, it is our most profound hope and deepest responsibility as educators, to send students into the world who possess an ethical character and virtuous nature. Morals and values such as kindness, empathy, courage, fairness, determination, responsibility and respect will be emphasized in every class, every day. Our Intermediate School students study Aristotelian Ethics. All students attend weekly “Ladies and Gentlemen” lessons in which social courtesy, correct social behavior and manners will be demonstrated and practiced.

Monticello Prep School teaches ethical character development through Michael Josephson’s  “Institute of Ethics” and its “Character Counts” program for youth. The nonpartisan and nonsectarian “Character Counts Coalition” helps youths develop the “Six Pillars of Character”: trustworthiness, respect, responsibility, fairness, caring and citizenship.
